Russian Manicure

The Russian manicure is a “dry” manicure, meaning it does not involve soaking the hands in water as is common in other techniques.


Here’s how it’s done:

First, any residual nail polish that could affect the result is removed. Next, the nails are filed to achieve the desired shape, and the cuticles are addressed, as they must be removed to increase the nail surface for the new polish.

To eliminate the cuticles, a classic steel cuticle pusher and a diamond-tipped drill are used. The drill is the signature tool of the Russian manicure.


There are different types of tips:

The candle tip tapers towards the end of the tool. It is used at a relatively low speed and functions to lift the cuticles.

The stone tip completes the lifting of the cuticles to enable them to be cut.

The spherical tip, as its name suggests, is ball-shaped and is used to file and perfect the cuticle removal.

Finally, the stone tip is used to polish the nail and remove dry skin.
